Everything you need to know about our in-shop bedliner application, vehicle drop-off, cure times, and warranty coverage.
You schedule a date and drop off your truck at our facility (4853 TX-276 Unit # 24, Royse City, TX) between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM. We also have a secure 24/7 key drop box if you need to leave your vehicle before hours. In most cases, your vehicle is prepped, sprayed, inspected, and ready for pickup the same afternoon.
Our high-pressure hot polyurea system chemically cross-links instantly. It is tack-free within 5 seconds! You can drive away immediately upon pickup. We recommend waiting 4 to 6 hours for light duty (groceries, soft cargo) and 24 hours before loading heavy, sharp items like gravel, stone, or steel toolboxes.
A standard truck bedliner takes approximately 3 to 4 hours from start to finish. This includes deep degreasing, mechanical diamond scuffing, static poly vehicle masking, high-temp plural spray, wire trim extraction, and final quality control.
Yes. We have a comfortable customer waiting area with Wi-Fi and refreshments. Many customers also choose to drop their truck off on their morning commute and pick it up at the end of their workday.
Surface prep is 90% of a permanent liner bond. We thoroughly clean and degrease the bed, then mechanically abrade the factory clear coat using coarse abrasive cup wheels to achieve a uniform 2 to 3 mil anchor profile. We blow out all dust with compressed dry air and execute a final solvent wipe.
Never. We use patented carbon-filament Wire-Trim tape along all bed rails, tailgate edges, and contours. The filament cuts cleanly through the polyurea from beneath when pulled, leaving a razor-sharp factory edge without any steel blades touching your paint.
Every vehicle inside our spray booth is completely encapsulated from bumper to bumper in electrostatically-charged poly sheeting. Only the exact bed substrate is exposed. Combined with our industrial downdraft exhaust, zero overspray reaches your paint, glass, or wheels.
Surface rust is ground down to bare steel and treated with an etch primer before polyurea application. If an old drop-in or failing DIY roll-on liner is present, we remove or mechanically strip the material down to sound substrate to ensure a lifetime bond.
Plastic drop-in liners trap water, humidity, dirt, and road salt underneath. As the truck drives, the plastic vibrates against the painted bed floor, wearing away clear coat and causing severe hidden rust. A spray-on polyurea liner forms a permanent, airtight seal that prevents rust entirely and provides non-skid cargo grip.
Polyurea provides significantly higher tensile strength (over 2,800 PSI), greater elongation, instant cure under any humidity level, and superior resistance to harsh chemicals, fuel, and battery acid. Unlike pure polyurethane, polyurea will not soften in high summer heat.
If your truck is parked outdoors in the Texas sun without a bed cover, we strongly recommend our aliphatic UV topcoat. Standard aromatic polyurea will naturally oxidize into a matte dark gray over years of UV exposure. The UV topcoat preserves a deep, satin jet-black finish indefinitely.
Yes! Many truck owners add rocker panel stone guards and inner wheel well liners during their bedliner appointment. It saves time and bundles the prep work for maximum cost savings.
Our 10-Year Transferable Warranty guarantees that your Blackhawk bedliner will not bubble, crack, peel, or delaminate from the truck bed substrate under normal automotive and commercial use. If an adhesion failure ever occurs, we repair it free of charge at our Royse City shop.
Our polyurea coating is virtually maintenance-free. Simply wash it with a high-pressure garden hose or car wash pressure wand. For stubborn grease or mud, use standard automotive soap and a stiff nylon bristle brush. It never requires waxing or re-coating.
